BMTH: Garvan Creates Australia's First Cancer Genomics Testing Service and Secures SydPath Deal
Cancer is a leading cause of death globally. So, a personalised genomics test for this complex disease has been on the medical wish list for a while. With funding from MTPConnectâs BioMedTech Horizons (BMTH) program, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research has developed a comprehensive cancer genomics platform for the Australian Healthcare sector with a single cost-effective test. The test is now available for use in routine clinical care through SydPath at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.

Case Study: Neurode Wave - changing the way ADHD is treated
Approximately one in every 20 Australians is affected by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a developmental disorder that affects the brain's executive functioning causing impulsive behaviour, attention problems and, sometimes, hyperactivity. While medication is considered the first line treatment, 30 per cent of people with ADHD are drug resistant and, an even larger, 80 per cent still struggle daily with the symptoms of ADHD despite available treatment.
