Australia's innovative biotech sector on show at BIO International Convention

The verdict is in from Team Australia - best BIO International Convention ever! With the largest showing of close to 500 delegates, a raft of innovative Australian biotech companies and organisations were represented at the world's largest biotech partnering event spearheaded by Minister for Industry & Science Hon Ed Husic MP.

The team at MTPConnect have been involved in supporting Team Australia's presence and organising a program of business activities at #BIO2024 in San Diego to highlight Australia's innovative biotech sector.

The program was all about collaboration and business opportunities:

✅ Global VIP Australian Business Networking Reception at Hotel del Coronado, sponsored by CSL, Novartis, Cytiva, QIMR Berghofer, ASX, attracted around 500 guests international and Australian leaders in the global biotech sector and John F Crowley, President and CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) made a special appearance to welcome the group
✅ Australian Women in Life Sciences Leadership Forum - Spotlight on Female Founders, sponsored by QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, focusing on leadership journeys
✅ Korea - Australia Open Innovation Seminar with Korea Health Industry Development Institute explained how researchers and startups can get involved in developing therapeutics of the future with biotech companies
✅ The eye-catching 'Australian Pavilion' hosting business partnering spaces, decent coffee and some warm Aussie hospitality and introductions 
✅ Announcement with ARM Hub (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) about a new joint AI accelerator - an opportunity for Australian high growth biomedical SMEs to take part in

✅ Signing of an MOU with Biocom California to extend our Australian - US relationship in the biotech sector
