WA Grant Excellence Service (WAGES) commercialisation grant development workshop for innovators and start-ups!

This in-person workshop is designed to help innovators and start-ups maximise their chance of success in national commercialisation grant opportunities. In this practical workshop, you will:

• Understand what assessors look for in a successful commercialisation grant application, including key eligibility requirements and evaluation criteria
• Learn how to position your innovation for funding, with guidance on articulating the problem, market opportunity and pathway to impact
• Avoid common pitfalls and strengthen your proposal, using practical tips and proven approaches to improve your chances of securing commercialisation funding
• Develop a strategic plan for your commercialisation grant application

WAGES workshops are designed for teams to come together and develop and enhance their ideas into a strategic plan for a grant application. Therefore, each registrant will need to nominate up to 3 team members who also attend the workshop.WAGES workshops are subsidised by the WA Future Health Research and Innovation Fund and therefore free for attendees. Due to capacity limits a selection process will be used if the number of applicants exceeds the number of places.

Who should attend:
• WA researchers, innovators and start-ups intending to apply for a national commercialisation grant to further develop and commercialise a venture that has progressed beyond the concept stage.
• Preference will be given to applicants intending to apply for a national commercialisation grant in 2026 or 2027.
• Bring up to three members of your team and work together on your strategic plan!

When: Wednesday 22 April 2026, 9:00am to 3:00pm (Lunch included).
Where: Curtin University

Selected teams will be notified by Friday 7 April 2026. Please ensure that you and your team members are available to attend the full in-person workshop on 22 April should your team be selected.
