Prof Ian Meredith AM

Dr Ian Meredith is a globally-recognised interventional cardiologist, professor of medicine, and executive leader in the global medtech industry.

Ian is currently a Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow at Monash University and a Non-executive director serving on the boards of both private and public companies in Australia and internationally.

He recently retired as the Executive Vice President and Global Chief Medical Officer at Boston Scientific Corporation in Massachusetts USA – a global Fortune 100 company – where he led clinical innovation and medical affairs, overseeing 17,000 medical devices, impacting 33 million patients in 130 countries.

Ian served as Professor and Director of MonashHeart for 12 years, practicing as an interventional cardiologist for 25 years. In 2003 he conceived and led the development of the Victorian Heart Hospital, Australia’s first advanced heart hospital which opened recently.

Over 30 years, he has merged patient care, clinical research, and life science technology to create transformative healthcare solutions.
