The event was all about highlighting Better Health Made Here – getting more homegrown medtech products purchased and used by local hospital and health services.
There was a great buzz in the room listening to Professor Ian Meredith’s keynote:
“We need to complexify and diversify our economy… Healthtech Medtech is an obvious opportunity.”
Susan Delroi from HealthShare Victoria highlighted HSV’s evolution in driving greater value for Victoria’s public health sector by focusing on a more strategic approach to procurement and enhanced partnerships with health services and suppliers.
MTPConnect Chair, The Hon Jaala Pulford celebrated MTPConnect’s Pathway to Market – Medtech Capability Uplift Program which aims to help Victorian Medtech manufacturing companies understand what health buyers need and to navigate Public procurement pathways.
Congratulations to the ten companies participating in this inaugural 2025 cohort including, Certius Medical, DentaLife, Lumos, Rhinomed, Sleeptite, Ventora Medical, AIKangaroo, VorOtek, ZiP Diagnostics and Optiscan.
It was standing room only and during the lightning pitches there was excitement from the crowd for the impressive Medtech innovations made here!
The busy exhibitor showcase themed into four zones gave companies the chance to demonstrate local medtech innovations in action to health service decision makers. From diagnostics to surgical care and everyday essentials, the Showcase offered buyers and clinicians a hands-on experience with local technologies.
There was facilitated matchmaking bringing health service buyers and Victorian suppliers together for a series of focused, ten minute conversations.
And to cap the day off, the Showcase concluded with a series of cross-sector ‘Future Solutions Roundtables’ facilitated by Carla Zampaglione from Sento Solutions – giving health service leaders, procurement teams, clinicians, and suppliers time to come together to explore priority challenges and opportunities.
We gratefully acknowledge support from the Clinical Product Advisors Group, participating health services and the Association of Healthcare Supply and Procurement Officers (AHSPO). Thanks to Karen Parr and the team at BioMelbourne Network and AMMA’s Sarah King-Smith for the teamwork. And hat’s off to MTPConnect’s Director Stakeholder Engagement Victoria & Health and Biosecurity Dr Amelia Vom who leads our Pathway to Market program.
The Pathway to Market program is an initiative of Australian Medtech Manufacturing Alliance (AMMA), delivered in partnership with MTPConnect and BioMelbourne Network, with support of the Victoria Government Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR).
