The WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub is proud to launch its Impact Report, bringing together seven years of action through data, case studies and outcomes that demonstrate how coordinated, partnership-led activity can strengthen WA’s biomedical sector.
The report highlights WALSIH’s role in supporting innovators, researchers, clinicians, and companies across the full innovation pipeline, from early translation pathways through to global expansion, while helping grow jobs, attract investment and build workforce capability within WA.
Structured around WALSIH’s three strategic pillars, ‘Connect, Transform and Propel’, the report reveals how activities delivered in partnership with the WA Government, MTPConnect, and The University of Western Australia have translated into tangible outcomes.
Key highlights from the report include:

WALSIH’s activities have enabled WA-based innovators to improve investment readiness, build commercial capability and access global markets, while supporting job creation and economic diversification.
Beyond the metrics, the report features case studies that bring the impact to life, showcasing how innovators and companies have successfully navigated their journeys with WALSIH support, and how global connections have been built while retaining capability in WA.
As a foundation partner alongside the Government of Western Australia and the University of Western Australia, MTPConnect is proud to support WALSIH’s concierge-style services and national connectivity that help WA biomedical companies compete and scale globally.
MTPConnect has contributed its expertise, funding, resources and networks to support the growth of the WA’s biomedical sector.
“Seven years on, this report outlines how WALSIH’s impact has far exceeded expectations, becoming a cornerstone for health and medical life science innovation, commercialisation and connectivity in WA. It is a national exemplar of how strategic partnerships can supercharge innovation,” said MTPConnect CEO Stuart Dignam.
“It’s been a seven-year journey of partnership, and one MTPConnect is proud to continue to champion,” said Dignam.
Congratulations to our WA team, led by Dr Tracey Wilkinson, for their dedication and commitment as they work with stakeholders and organisations – from innovators and entrepreneurs to multinational companies, service providers and government – to support the WA ecosystem.
