Hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI), the second Queensland Health Research Excellence Showcase was held on 30 May 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre,
The Showcase, themed Fast, Fearless and Future, celebrates the role that a strong research culture and translating research into practice plays in advancing medical research, workforce development and healthcare.
As part of the Showcase, MTPConnect, Australia’s life sciences innovation accelerator, partnered with ORI to deliver a research poster and pitch session for the Showcase – attracting more than 40 entries from across Queensland. An opportunity for applicants to attend an online pitch training workshop was also provided in the leadup to the Showcase.
It was a uniqute opportunity for Queensland Health employees to promote their translation-ready research. The four best posters and presentations, as judged by a People’s Vote (Showcase attendees) and assessment by an expert industry panel, were awarded a cash prize of $3,500.
Applications from regional rural and remote locations, and from First Nations peoples, and people from multicultural backgrounds were especially encouraged.
